Ramu: Cox’s Bazar


Ramu is an Upazila of Cox’s Bazar District. Ramu is famous for Buddhist temples, Himchharhi and Rubber Plantation. This is also a typical Buddhist village. A sizeable Buddhist population lives in Ramu. It is famous for its handicrafts and homemade cigars.There are monasteries, khyangs and pagodas containing images of Buddha in gold, bronze and other metals inlaid with precious stones. Ramu has about 35 Buddhist temples.
